Blog 2 Short Story
- I read the story "Falling" by author Elizabeth Baines
- I chose it because the title caught my eye and the cover looked very interesting compared to the other short stories
- I enjoyed it, because it was different but I didn't like the ending because there were four different endings the story offered
- A woman who was looking for her boyfriend slipped and fell and injured her hand, knee, shoulder, and her head
- Her and her boyfriend had a fight about him dancing with other woman and not being there when she fell
- The woman fell again on the street behind a truck, hurt her knee really badly, and decided she needed to have more care when she would go out
- In the summer, she tripped again this time being already careful, but she felt no pain
- She believed and thought of four different ways that she could have died during her past falls, because she had felt no pain during the last fall
- I couldn't find any real elements from HTRLLAP, that applied to this story, except when the author stated the woman's last fall was in the summer, and this season may have been a symbol.
- The fact her last fall was in the summer, and that she imagined all sorts of death scenarios she had gone through, could represent that she was happy and at peace.
